The Youth Sponsorship Network for Little Saints Orphanage and Safe Haven for Children

Little Saints Orphanage is a network of care homes for orphaned, neglected and abused children which was founded by Rev. Mrs. Christiana Bamidele George in 1994. It has 6 care homes across 4 states in Nigeria. Little Saints is a Christian organization where the values of Christ are inculcated in the children all while providing for their material needs such as shelter, food, healthcare and of course their education. We have Little Saints in all levels of education and our goal is to keep them in the best schools possible.

The YSN is a new project created as a means of connecting the Little Saints with the mentorship and support of the youth. We saw that young people of Nigeria have so much to offer but that there are very few structures in place where they can safely and sustainably do so in a way that is tailored to their current life situation. The idea is to pair each child at Little Saints with a Youth Mentor who will support them long term as they develop but also pay directly into their future by donating a small sum of money (N5,000) each month to fund their educational needs. This idea comes from the understanding that a child needs more than just the physical needs being met or even needs that surpass just going to school.
